Season 14:

Journey through the Human Cell

In Season 14, we explored the route-map of a cell, looking at the different action centers and roles each organelles play.

The season included 10 sessions and activities that introduced the salient features that constitute the Cell. Our speakers reminded our young minds that the cell organelles are always working in tandem and that communication is key at all times.

The season ended with a hands on session to build a cell model, inviting the young minds to add their own touch to the age-old Cell model.

Season 13:

Microbe express for kids

In Season 13, we embarked on a journey to learn about microbes and their differemt roles and contributions to human life and the environment.

The season included 9 sessions on microbes, with guest scientists from India, UK, USA, and Chile, and was structured to discuss microbes in poop, microbes and infections, a virtual tour into a microbiology laboratory, and more.

In the final session of the season, we had a recap of all previous sessions, with a mini-quiz and giant mentimeter poll. Also, check out the weekly activities that went along with Microbe Express for Kids in our 'Weekly Activities' section.

Season 12:

Science Of 'YOU'

In Season 12, we learned how amazing and unique we are!

We talked about Membranes in the Human Body, Memory Formation, and Blood Circulation to How Food Makes 'You,' and so much more!

This season included two hands-on sessions!

In the first hands-on session, young minds constructed their own version of a tongue-taste map, and in the second hands-on session, young minds made a simple model of the human hand out of dough!

Season 11:

Science for Big Questions!

In Season 11, we learned how big questions in science are asked and answered.

We discussed a range of topics from Fatty Liver Disease, Brain Plasticity, Epidemiology, Collective Behavior in Animals and more!

In our hands-on session, our young minds conducted a "real experiment" by mimicking climate change using a simple model of glacier melting, and we crowdsourced the data and displayed it live!

Season 10:

back to the lab!

In Season 10, we went back to the lab to learn about science being done in India and across the world. We also partnered with India Science Festival for two fun sessions on microbes and building biofilms at home!

Bonus: This season had two hands on sessions!

Season 9:

science in different careers

In Season 9, we host guest scientists pursuing various professions such as bread making to scientific writing, and learnt from them how they used science in their jobs.

A diverse season, with a fun hands on session where young minds built and evaluated a portable water filter!

Season 8:

science With undergraduates and Masters' students

In Season 8, we hosted undergraduate and Masters' students to discuss their research or areas of scientific focus with us.

We had some wonderful sessions, including a brilliant hands on session!

Season 7

experimental techniques With PHD SCHOLARS and Postdocs-ii

In Season 7, we had sessions that went beyond biology and into RNA, Bacterial toxins and Electromicrobiology!

Our guest scientists were PhD scholars and postdoctoral researchers from India and across the world. Many thanks to them for sharing their research with us!

Season 6:

experimental techniques With PHD SCHOLARS and Postdocs

In Season 6, we had sessions that went beyond biology and into primatology, polymers and DNA Replication!

Our guest scientists were PhD scholars and postdoctoral researchers from India and across the world. Many thanks to them for sharing their research with us!

Season 5:

beyond Stem: science in everyday life

In Season 5, we had sessions that went beyond biology and into computer science, space, cartography!

Other sessions included science in the kitchen, science in the medicine cabinet, science of heredity (where we drew pedigree charts).

In our cartography session, we 'mapped' our immediate surroundings!

Many thanks to the guest scientists who helped us expand our realm!

Season 4:

Science Relevant to young health

In Season 4, we had sessions dedicated to young health!

We covered a whole range of topics from wounds and fractures, sleep, the importance of physical exercise, the body's matrix, allergies and more!

In of our sessions we had over 100 participants, with #100 trending in the chat window!

In our hands-on session, our young minds did a 'real experiment' related to body temperature, and we crowd sourced all the data and displayed it live!

Season 3:

Science Relevant to India

In Season 3, we learnt all about science relevant to India and the great research being done by scientists in India!

Through our sessions, we took a look at historical Indian medicine, tuberculosis and more.

We hosted inspiring Indian scientists as guests who introduced us to the science of studying Indian peafowls, dogs, tiger conservation and advances in medical biotechnology in India.

In our hands-on session, our young minds identified spiders from their homes with our guest scientist!

Season 2:

Deep Dive into Science in the Lab

In Season 2, we took a 'deep dive into science in the lab' and discussed new and exciting topics, that our young minds do not encounter in school textbooks.

We learnt about bioluminescence, organ-on-a-chip, tissue culture, and the thrilling Antarctica expedition of one of our guest scientists!

We ended with a hands-on session where our young minds extracted DNA from a banana using hand sanitizer!

Season 1:

biology is all around us

In Season 1, we looked at how 'Science is all around us'.

We began the season by taking about the novel coronavirus (COVID-19 explained for young people). We also discussed biofilms, antibiotics, vaccines and even a session on how microbes help make food!

Our season ended with our young minds building microbial ecosystems in a jar or 'Winogradzsky columns', with soil, water, salt and newspaper!
